In-Person & Telehealth Services
I provide individual therapy for adult clients both in person (in El Cajon, CA) and via telehealth sessions provided for those located in California. Throughout the therapy process, it is standard for therapists to use a variety of evidence-based practices to tailor treatment to each client. Below is a highlight of specialty services provided by Soaring Horizons Therapy Services, though each session may draw from various treatment approaches.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a form of psychotherapy with roots in existing evidence-based therapies, but which has been shown to achieve benefits much more rapidly. ART works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. ART accomplishes this through the use of rapid eye movements similar to eye movements that occur during dreaming. ART does not involve hypnotherapy, and the client is always in control of what is happening.
What to Expect: While you may likely revisit distressful memories during the process of ART treatment, the direct effect of the memories are usually minimized within the same session. Additionally, since it is not necessary to explain the memories with specific detail to your therapist, the likelihood of re-traumatization during the therapy process remains very low.
Note: Many clients experience significant relief of symptoms in 1-6 sessions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented approach that focuses on understanding how individual thinking habits influence emotional responses and choices. In my work with CBT, I help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns which directly affect emotions, and to understand how those emotions then affect behaviors that may be contributing to ongoing stress and discontent.
Together, we will work on developing practical strategies to assist in reframing your experiences, which in turn can open the doors to allow you to respond more productively to life’s stressors.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is often referred to as “parts work”, because it views the mind as being comprised of multiple distinct parts, or specifically defined sub-personalities, each with their own unique purpose and reasons for surfacing.
In working through the lens of IFS, I help clients to:
✔ Identify the specific parts that surface
✔ Understand the role of these parts
✔ Heal the parts that need greater attention
✔ Stabilize the parts to trust the core self
Note: There are “no bad parts”, as each seeks to fit an individual purpose.
